About Miss Bri

Teacher in class

Growing up in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the ocean and jungle were the backdrop for all my childhood memories. I developed a profound connection with nature that has stayed with me my entire life. In 2008 I moved to Washington, DC to study International Studies with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. My hope was always to create a program that would contribute to the growth and wellbeing of the island community that raised me. I had the privilege of spending 8 months in Rio de Janeiro where I learned Portuguese and had my first experiences with teaching English in the favelas. It was during this time that I realized I wanted to dedicate my career to teaching.

Between 2014-2022 I completed a Master's of Education and spent 8 transformative years teaching in international schools in Asia. I experienced the power of inquiry-based learning (specifically learning through play). With a classroom of many different nationalities and native languages, I observed how children are motivated to communicate and do so through their play. I taught alongside educators who constantly worked to align their teaching practice with the most recent research and advocated loudly for the needs of children. I had the privilege of supporting students with different learning abilities, collaborating closely with social-emotional counselors, psychologists, and occupational therapists to ensure that my student's needs were met.

In 2023 I moved to Mexico City and one year later began Curious Kids! Now every day is filled with incredible learning experiences through nature, adventure and play.
